Hemenway & Barnes Expands Nonprofit Group with Addition of Eleanor Evans
BOSTON—Hemenway & Barnes, one of Boston’s preeminent legal and fiduciary firms, is pleased to announce that Eleanor A. Evans has joined the firm as counsel.

Ms. Evans has over 20 years’ experience representing nonprofit and for-profit organizations in a range of legal, governance and compliance matters. She provides practical advice to private foundations, public charities and other tax-exempt organizations on strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations. Prior to joining Hemenway & Barnes, Ms. Evans served as General Counsel of Action for Boston Community Development, Inc. (ABCD) and as Executive Director/General Counsel of Community Action Program Legal Services, Inc. (CAPLAW), a nonprofit providing legal assistance to a network of approximately 1,000 human services providers nationwide.

Active in the Boston Bar Association and a frequent speaker at nonprofit sector events, Ms. Evans also co-authored “Being a Player: A Guide to the IRS Lobbying Regulations for Advocacy Charities.”
